The Pink House is an institution in itself – an institution outside institutions. The official institutions in Bulgaria continue to fail to recognize the seriousness of the problem and to put the care of people with addictions permanently on their budget cards. A society is only as strong as the weakest in it. They are the ones The Pink House cares for.

I believe that The Pink House and the people in it, caring and cared for, do miracles! Sometimes, even small successes are miracles. I wish we had a chain, a whole network of Pink Houses nationwide, well funded by the government and supported by the community!

Initiatives like The Pink House are some of the most meaningful things happening in Bulgaria and desperately need broad and widespread support.

We need to change our attitude towards people who have fallen into addiction – no one knows if tomorrow they or their loved one will have to cross the threshold of The Pink House!

The work that The Pink House does is of great importance both for improving the quality of life of an extremely vulnerable social group and for treating and reintegrating people from this group. Thanks to them, we are all changing the way we think and slowly (and thankfully, surely) becoming more responsible, more empathetic, more generous, and more socially engaged. In short, The Pink House makes us all better.

The Pink House is the only place where people left behind by their families and the state can get human and professional support to cope with difficult situations arising from addictions, homelessness, and all the consequences that this entails. They only provide food, the possibility of basic hygiene, legal and psychological assistance, a friendly hand, and community.
